The Missouri Optometric Foundation(MOF), with the mission of “promoting optometric practice in the State of Missouri” is a very worthwhile cause to contribute to. The MOF has several programs to promote private optometric practice, optometric knowledge, and education, while also advancing and improving optometric education through support to colleges of optometry. The UMSL College of Optometry, in particular, has benefitted from the numerous annual grants and scholarships provided by MOF.
In fact, they have donated over $500,000 to the College, which has also included sponsoring various events at the College, sponsoring students to attend the MOA convention, and sponsoring students to attend the AOSA meeting.
You can contribute to MOF by simply going to the website: missourioptometricfoundation.com or make a check out to: “Missouri Optometric Foundation” 1250 North Main Street, Sikeston, MO 63801. The MOF is a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, and all donations are tax deductible to the fullest extent allowable by the IRS.
