Each year, the Missouri Optometric Association hosts it’s annual conference in different cities across the state of Missouri. This past October, the MOA held the conference in St. Charles, Missouri.  In conjunction with the conference, each year the College of Optometry hosts a reception for members of the MOA and alumni.  This year, instead of hosting the reception at the convention center—Dean Larry Davis decided to spotlight the Patient Care Center on campus.  Creating a fall scene in the unfinished section of the Patient Care Center was a fun challenge; several members of the college transformed the space into a reception venue.  On Saturday, October 14, 2017, over 80 people attended the reception. Guests enjoyed food from Sugarfire Smoke House and giveaways from the college and the university’s alumni office.

Attendees also had the opportunity to play corn hole with UMSL-themed corn hole games.  Dean Larry Davis comments, “Numerous friends and alumni provide financial support for the Patient Care Center. It was an honor to host the 2017 convention attendees within our new space.”  Student ambassadors enthusiastically showed guests our beautiful facility. The reception was a success and allowed our students and alumni to interact in our new Patient Care Center.
