Over 170 optometrists from the St. Louis area and beyond came to UMSL’s JC Penney Conference Center on Sunday, August 19, for a day of learning. Beginning the day was well-traveled lecturer Marc Bloomenstein, OD, FAAO. Dr. Bloomenstein spoke first on cases that encompass the entire eye. That was followed up with a course on oral pharmaceuticals. Dr. Bloomenstein’s humorous delivery made for a lively morning.

The afternoon speakers both hail from UMSL’s College of Optometry: Thomas Landgraf, OD, FAAO, presented a course on Immunoptometry, and Casey Hamm, OD, FAAO, (’15) provided an update on clinical imaging and the latest technology. Dr. Landgraf’s and Dr. Hamm’s detailed course materials delivered valuable information to attendees.

Plans are in the works for the 2019 Nutrition and the Eye Symposium and the Coding Update. You may direct any questions regarding Continuing Education to Erin Schaeffer at schaeffere@umsl.edu.
