After last summer’s vast remodel of the ground floor and the pre-clinic space, the students, faculty, and staff witnessed a true makeover for the college.  While the building is aging, the enhancements made last summer really help with the student experience and encourage on-campus studying.  This summer, Dr. Carl Bassi’s optics laboratory, that has been located in the hallway of the third floor of Marillac, is being moved to a brand-new location across the hall from the Anatomy, Physiology & Disease Processes laboratory. This new space will provide a true classroom feel and proper esthetics, and will no longer be a place that people walk through as they try to make it from one end of the building to the other.

The third floor will also see a renovation that includes new lockers for students to store equipment in, new lighting through the hallway, new flooring, assigned student organization space in the old optics laboratory, two new seating areas, three new study rooms, and a conference room. Ceiling paneling will be removed to brighten up the space, and a new swipe card door for the Dean’s suite will be added.  The project is expected to be completed by August 2019.
