On Sunday, August 20, 2017, the College of Optometry hosted 175 optometrists for a continuing education program on retina and systemic disease. The speakers were Dr. Joseph Pizzimenti, from University of the Incarnate Word, and Dr. Carlo Pelino, from Salus University. They returned following a successful program in August 2016.
Attendees participated in lecture and discussion on topics ranging from retinal imaging, diabetes, CNV variations, and oral medications. The program was well received, and the doctors are working on new courses for 2018.
