UMSL faculty and student leaders with AOA Vice President, Dr. Barbara Horn

On Thursday, April 5thand Friday, April 6th, 2018, the College of Optometry had the distinct privilege of a visit by two distinguished leaders in the profession. Dr. Barbara Horn, Vice President of the American Optometric Association, and Dr. Jeff Walline, renowned myopia researcher and a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Optometry, visited UMSL’s campus.  Dr. Horn met with students and then presented an update on the profession of optometry to College faculty and student leaders at a dinner meeting on April 5th.  Dr. Walline also had the opportunity to meet with student members of the American Academy of Optometry as well as faculty on April 6th.   In what has to be the most distinguished group of judges in our history, Drs. Horn and Walline assisted in the selection of UMSL’s contestant for the Essilor Optometry Student Bowl, held during Optometry’s Meeting.
